This battle cannot be called fair – the difference in construction between 1.4 and 1.7 usually always makes itself felt. But it so happened that I still have materials that are suitable for such a comparison, and it was decided to use them. Just out of curiosity.

I almost missed this lens in my tests. It is so standard that there is literally nothing to say about it, except what is usually said about 50mm f/1.7 lenses. And  absolutely functional lens. They were released in huge quantities, as they were kit lenses for many camera models. Look at the tests. It is another one beautiful Minolta’s product.
